蘇迪勒來襲，彰化風大雨小，位於秀水的台電一次變電所輸電設備，8日清晨因風勢強勁而故障，下游14個二次變電所無法供電，導致彰化出現史上最大規模停電，全縣80萬戶有65萬戶停電；縣長魏明谷要求台電在天黑前恢復供電，但截至深夜10點收工，仍有近10萬戶摸黑過夜。

台電副處長陳華信表示，部分搶修後恢復供電的區域，尤其是西部靠海的空曠地區，下午因風力增強，電線又被吹斷。

彰化縣境陸續傳出各類災情612件，大多是招牌、鐵皮掉落、樹倒等，甚至有冷氣從天而降，縣長官邸門口的80歲菩提樹，也難逃被強風連根拔起，倒靠官邸圍牆上的噩運；北斗警分局田尾分駐所工友宿舍鐵皮屋頂更被掀翻，內部擺設全曝光。田尾分駐所副所長柳江聲說，工友宿舍只當儲藏室，這種場面只有30年前的韋恩颱風，才見過。

蘇迪勒狂風也造成農業損害達50多公頃，其中以正採收的龍眼受害40餘公頃最多，農業處說，災後這幾天，農損數據會持續擴大。
